What’s on in the suburbs, week starting Jan 20

It’s that time again and with not much happening in musical theatre the emphasis this week is on exhibitions. There are some very interesting things on at the moment. So onto the week

Ian Potter Centre,

Gareth Sansom Transformer, on until January 28 and free to the public

Akio Makigawa:Spirit and Memory, on until February 1 and free to

the public.

Heide Museum of Modern Art,

Making History: Nolan at the Newsagent, on until May 20.

ACMI(Australian Centre for the Moving Image)

Wallace & Gromit and friends: The magic of Aardman, on until January 29.

Art Gallery of Ballarat,

Romancing the Skull, on until January 28.

Ballarat is only an hour’s drive away from Melbourne and, like Bendigo, has some interesting exhibitions all year round. I love Sidney Nolan’s work; l don’t live anywhere near Heide, but, with the exhibition being on until May l might make a day of it.

** If you would like something included on the list please email details by 3pm Wednesday.

Hope you can get out and enjoy the arts this week:)
