There’s something extra special about photography galleries. A week before Easter l met a friend for coffee in Mornington. We caught up on all the news and then made our way to Mark Gray Gallery, conveniently situated in Main Street, Mornington.
Do you see that photograph on the billboard, well, there are more stunning photos inside. The gallery itself is plainly furnished; white brick walls and black partitions with spotlights in the rafters showcasing the panoramic photographs perfectly. Printed on reflective photographic paper these photos show nature in all its glory and standing before each one l marvelled at the beauty of our world.
Mark Gray is such a talented, and dedicated, photographer. He lives locally on the Mornington Peninsula and travels the world with his camera. One staff member told me that for one particular photo Mark stood in water for five hours waiting to capture the perfect light. He has won many international awards and it’s easy to understand why when you stand in front of his photos.
Please, if you are in the Mornington area make the effort to come and see these photos for yourself. I find it hard to put into words the shear majesty of these landscapes. They also run photography workshops. Take one of these and one day l may be waxing lyrically about your stunning photography.
The gallery is open 7 days a week, excluding Public Holidays, and is open 9-5.
